Dry Creek Valley
2009 Simi Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah
On the nose, discover salted caramel, toffee, subtle mint and fresh fruit compote of black cherry, blueberry, and black plum over a smoky bacon base note. What follows are confident strokes of blueberry, plum and black cherry with an exotic hint of freshly crushed cardamom pods. The finish is lifted with chewy tannins and peppery spice. This decadent Petite Sirah beautifully combines sweet and savory aromas. Bright fruit notes laced with bacon and sweet caramel leap from the glass.
Food Pairing Notes
We recommend pairing it with a mesquite-grilled porter house steak with gorgonzola butter and roasted garlic, or duck confit pappardelle with oven-dried Roma tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, arugula and Parmesan cheese.
